B&E Resources is searching for a Staff Accountant to join the corporate accounting team in Beaumont, Texas. The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Position will be located at the corporate office: 350 Pine Street, Suite 601, Beaumont, Texas.
Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
- Analyze and monitor the virtual job folders to ensure compliance with documentation requirements and to manage job costs within the ERP systems
- Manage, record and file sales tax and other governmental reports related to the jobs and the company
- Work with operations personnel to ensure compliance with internal control framework over the financial close process to ensure the security of the Company’s assets, the integrity of the financial statements, and timely adherence of reporting deadlines
- Perform General Ledger analysis monthly to find and fix coding errors
- Perform routine validations of the fixed assets/fleets and prepare related depreciation schedules
- Review new leases for appropriate accounting treatment, and book monthly journal entries for existing leases
- Review monthly credit card statements and prepare journal entries
- Assist with financial, government and third-party audits
- Conduct reconciliations of Balance Sheet accounts and perform other accounting functions as required
- Assist with month and quarter end reporting
- Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels within the organization
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in accounting with 3-5 years of related industry experience. Work within industrial construction or industrial service company is preferred but not required. This individual must be judicious regarding job/project costing and general accounting.
